Update from 15th July. By Matt and Martin.

On Sat 15th July we had a diesel running day with D1661 working the usual DMU diagram and we
also had one of the Diesel Driver experience courses taking place using Class 33 D6575.
On Saturday evening after the end of service D6575 ran light engine to Bishops Lydeard to be
based there in order to work the DMU diagram on Sunday and Monday.

Meanwhile back on shed D7018 body repaint is still in progress as per first picture below from
Martin. Alongside her in the shed is D7017. 17 is undergoing a light repaint as we are very
pleased to report she is provisionally going to attend the Old Oak Common open day later in the
year and also pay a visit to the Great Central Railway. More details to follow.

Also inside the shed now is D9526 which as we reported last week has had the replacement
engine successfully installed by Simon, Terry and the team. So for the first time in many years we
have three locos under cover in the shed and out the way of our lovely sea gull friends who seem
to be divebombing locos more than usual at the moment! For long while components occupied
the space where D9526 is sat.

Plenty more Diesel running this season, D1010 is still planned to be out this coming weekend.
