This week an update on the two Class 33's from Ian.
D6566- Work continuing towards a formal brake test and test running.
D6575 – The loco shut down whilst on passenger duties during the week. So on Saturday following re-
charging of the batteries some tests were performed. Initially no fault was found but then after being left
running for an hour or so it shut down again and it was apparent that the batteries had stopped charging
at some point.
Further investigation revealed a burnt tag on the feed from cable WPA (triple pump +ve) to the AVR
(Automatic Voltage Regulator), this would definitely have made battery charging intermittent.
A new tag was crimped on and following a further battery charging period the loco was started and all now
