Update from Saturday 7th Jan. By John Cronin and Ian Robins

Happy New Year to all our readers. On Saturday a major shunt was undertaken in order to get D9526 into the
shed for an engine change. Thanks to Steve Martin for being the duty signalman that day to get everything in
place. 20 Volunteers were on duty on our first major Saturday working day of 2017.

Here is an update on the various locos. Ian has kindly supplied some photos from Saturday of the mega shunt!

D9526- Shunted into No 3 berth in the diesel shed so we can start the process of an engine change to
hopefully be completed by the end of April 2017. This timescale will allow us to load test the loco in May in time
to appear in the June Diesel Gala.

D1010- Now fully winterised in time for the cold weather scheduled to sweep in later this week!

D7017- Repairs completed and fresh anti-freeze added to coolant to keep locomotive fully operational ready to
load test when we can get access to the line possibly in late February.

D7018- Overhaul progressing and fresh anti-freeze added to coolant to keep locomotive fully operational.
Currently berthed in no 2 road in the Diesel shed.

D6566- Stored awaiting negotiation of underframe overhaul contract.

D9518- Nearly ready to lift frames to release wheel sets.

D6575- Available for traffic

D1661- Available for traffic.

The WSR has launched their 2017 timetable initial view is that it presents reduction in our diesel running days-
