During this final week of the 2025 running season on the WSR, there is a need for Empty Coaching Stock (ECS) movements to position the coaching stock in the appropriate places for the BLUE timetable public service duties and for preparation for the festive Christmas seasonal specials.

On Tuesday 28th October, Class 33 D6566 (33048) will work ‘Light Engine’ (LE) from Williton to Bishops Lydeard to collect Coach Set ‘B’ and the ‘Quantock Belle‘ dining set and will then work them ‘ECS’ to Minehead. The loco will then return to Williton ‘LE’. The approximate timings for this are as follows:

10:00 : depart Williton (WN) LE for Bishops Lydeard (BL)

11:30 : depart BL for Minehead (MD) on a 9-coach ECS working

13:53 : depart MD LE for WN.

NOTE – the timings may change to suit operational requirements

Although the 2025 running season is almost at a close, keep an eye on our DIESEL RUNNING DATES page which is regularly updated and carries the list of diesel-hauled public services for 2025. This page is used in conjunction with DIESELGEN to provide a complete picture of diesel locomotive activities on the WSR:

The webcams provide a very good way of watching the action from afar. Click this link: http://www.wsr.org.uk/cams.htm or click on the image below to go to the webcams via wsr.org.uk:

There are now ELEVEN Webcams on the WSR ! The new high-resolution webcams (some with auto-zoom capability) cover Bishops Lydeard, Crowcombe Heathfield (x2) Williton (x2), Watchet (x2), Blue Anchor (x2), Minehead Seaward Way and Minehead Station. Select the appropriate webcam by clicking on the blue button on the webcam page. Many thanks to Railcam UK and the WSR for providing these webcam services.
