The 50th anniversary of the DEPG will be celebrated on the 22nd September 2023, 50 years to the day when the ‘HYMEK SWANSONG’ railtour marked what was planned to have been the last year of ‘Hymek’ operation on British Rail.
To commemorate this milestone event, the DEPG and the WSR had been planning to present a long weekend of diesel action. Unfortunately, due to the incident that took place on 4th August 2023 (click here for details), this event has had to be postponed to some time in 2024. The revised date will be announced as soon as possible.
